Chapman Chat: 3rd & 4 Quarter

First semester is over and third quarter is here, with graduation and summer vacation close at hand! The spring semester has begun... a time for new beginnings and stimulating projects! Locate the applicable tab for information regarding class information and readings.

My office hours are typically mornings and afternoons of block days, as well as mornings when faculty and department meetings are not scheduled (certain Tuesdays and Fridays). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at mchapman@salpointe.org and I'll return your email by the next school day. If you're still on campus after school, stop by room 701 for extra help. Of course, the best method is to schedule an appointment in advance so I can guarantee specific time to help you, but if something comes up unexpectedly, feel free to drop by, and I'll do my best to address your concerns.

ENGLISH SKILLS Overview

Human Network (Lg.)
This semester we will continue working on task analysis, organization skills, phonics via weekly spelling tests and revisions, writing, listening and reading comprehension. In addition, the class will begin one major reading assignment, THE SEA OF MONSTERS, and continue analyzing short stories from around the world. This is the time where students truly demonstrate mastery of their skills and knowledge as they form groups to teach a short story to their peers.
