Designing an Accessible Computer Lab

Rationale:  Designing an Accessible Computer Lab

Context

In an FDN 3100 class, we defined the word “accessible.”  As a class we began by making a list of characteristics and items that would make a computer lab more accessible.  After naming five, we worked in small groups to brainstorm more ideas and we finished our list by coming together as a class and sharing the items and characteristics we came up with as a small group.

Impact

When I become an educator, it is possible that I will have input into the design or remodeling of a computer lab.  I will consider accommodating the needs of students such as tactilely impaired, hearing impaired, visually impaired,

Alignment

I have met Nets Competency IIB in that I have used the expertise of my classmates and instructor to design a computer lab that will be accessible to all students, regardless of disabilities.
