The following files are alternate examples of work that meets the standards required in this module. This course did not have a rubric requirement when it was taken so alternate examples have been used to show an understanding of brain based teaching and learning as discussed in the course texts. Each of the following papers includes a full understanding of brain-based learning and how it has an impact on curriculum, instruction, and assessment. The standards met by each example are listed below the example. An example of a WebQuest activity is also included with its rubric since it was developed with the concepts of brain-based learning.
Developing a curriculum map that is based on students' needs and abilities is necessary to facilitate productive and meaningful learning. The following map covers a six-week period and the information required of high school students in Arizona to learn for mastery of Strand 4, Life Science, in the science standards. This map exceeds the standards since it covers a greater length of time and has been used in the classroom during the practicum experience and has proven effective.
