ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS FOR MS. KNAPP

Behavior: If you want a private response to your behavior follow class norms and expectations and see me privately.  If you behave in a rude or disruptive way publicly, you will receive a public response.  Do NOT tell me that you want a private response for your public behavior.  Who will teach the rest of our class if I stop teaching to bring you into the hallway to discuss your behavior?  Every behavior seeks a certain response, and a public behavior earns a public response.

You are expected to enter the class quietly and take your seat.  You must come to class prepared with a pencil, highlighter, books, binder and your agenda.

You should take care of any bathroom and locker needs before arriving to class.

Absenses

If you are absent for any reason, it is your responsibility to find out what you missed and to turn in all assignments in a timely manner.

If your absence is planned, you should make every effort to determine what you will miss ahead of time by asking me or consulting classmates.

Policies on Plagiarism and Cheating

Plagiarism and cheating will not be tolerated on any assignment or assessment.

The first instance of plagiarism or cheating will result in a zero for the assignment or assessment and a warning.

Your parents will be notified by an email that you will help me compose.

Subsequent instances will result in disciplinary actions, including referral to the office and detention.

Your Effort

You will get out of school (and life) what you put into it.

If you do all of your assignments on time and to the best of your ability, really strive to learn

and study the material as suggested above, and seek help when needed, you will be successful.

I will respond to and support hard work and effort.

Every one of you can be successful!

My Goal

My goal for this yearis for every student to be challenged, and for no student to feel left behind.

I will need a lot of feedback from you to make this work, so don’t hesitate to see me in person

or to contact me with questions and/or just to let me know how things are going.

I am a teacher because I love teaching!  I want you to learn as much as you can.

Your choices + your actions = YOUR LIFE.  CHOOSE YOUR LIFE!
