Student Learning Outcomes

Goal 1: Students will acquire substantive knowledge of global spatial patterns and concepts central to geosciences.

1.A Students can identify spatial patterns and associated place locations around our globe. 

1.B Students can identify and/or recognize basic concepts in geoscience. 

Goal 2: Students will have the analytical and technical skills necessary to perform spatial analysis and research using ArcGIS or other technology. 

2.A Students can access and construct electronic data for use within ArcGIS. 

2.B Students can manage, manipulate, and analyze spatial information in ArcGIS. 

2.C Students can effectively communicate geographic information by producing an accurate and compelling visualization of spatial information. 

Goal 3: Students will acquire knowledge and skills sufficient to allow admittance to a graduate program or find employment in a related field. 

3.A Students demonstrate employability by using scientific methodology and communication skills.
