Student Learning Outcomes

Goal 1: Students demonstrate knowledge of fundamental business concepts, tools, systems and processes.

1.A Students will demonstrate knowledge of fundamental concepts and principles of organizational behavior and management.  

1.B Students will demonstrate knowledge of fundamental concepts of organizational communication.  

1.C Students demonstrate knowledge of current laws, regulations, and legal issues affecting business.  

1.D Students will demonstrate knowledge of fundamental concepts and principles of marketing.  

1.E Students will demonstrate knowledge of fundamental concepts and principles of managerial accounting.  

1.F Students will demonstrate knowledge of fundamental concepts and principles of finance.  

Goal 2: Students can effectively apply and integrate concepts and tools from relevant business functional areas to analyze and critically evaluate alternative solutions to business problems. 

2.A Students will apply concepts and principles of management accounting.

2.B Students will apply concepts and tools in economics for managerial decisions in alternative market structures.

2.C Students can use quantitative analysis to aid in the decision-analysis process.

2.D Students will use appropriate organizational communication concepts and tools to address business problems.

2.E Students will apply appropriate marketing concepts, theories, principles and tools to business problems.

2.F Students can apply financial tools to make business decisions.

2.G Students will be able to address complex issues from multiple perspectives and develop solutions that resolve core organizational problems.    

2.H Students will integrate knowledge, concepts, theories, principles and tools from management, marketing, accounting, finance, operations and economics in solving business problems. 

Goal 3: Students are responsive to the global environment in which organizations operate and can analyze and describe how global and cultural factors influence the organization. 

3.A Students are able to analyze and explain how cultural differences influence the business environment.

3.B Students are able to analyze and explain how global political, legal, and economic differences impact business decisions.  

3.C Students will demonstrate knowledge of the unique and specific challenges of entering and competing in global markets.

Goal 4: Students demonstrate knowledge of and sensitivity to ethical issues that will assist them in advancing their organizations and society in an ethical way. Students engage their business knowledge and skills to serve the community. 

4.A Students are able to recognize and analyze ethical problems and choose and defend resolutions.  

4.B Students will demonstrate an understanding of concepts associated with corporate social responsibility and ethical decision making.

4.C Students demonstrate a commitment to use their business knowledge and skills to serve the community through a service learning project.  

Goal 5: Students will demonstrate knowledge of leadership theory and practice that prepares them to lead effectively. 

5.A Students will demonstrate knowledge of theories and principles of organizational leadership.
