Dungeons & Dragons: Week 5

This is the final week of the pursuit, and while I have failed to keep my campaign going, there are two sides to the game. A friend decided to start a campaign in the slot I left open by stopping, and I set about creating a character for it immediately. Originally, I was going to play a bard, a class centered around artistic expression and controlling the battlefield, but then I got an idea for a fighter (drawing of her attached!) and created that instead. Now, creating a character is hard the first few times, because you have to learn all the rules to making one, but me and my friends started by using a site called dugeonmastersvault that does a lot of the setup for you. For creating a fighter, the steps are relatively simple since the class is based around martial weapons and not many spells, if any. The first step to making any character is deciding your class and race, so I was already ahead of the game, as I also chose to be a Human. After that, you decide your ability scores by either rolling dice for the values or using a "Point buy" system for the stats, where you can choose to raise your stats with a set number of points. We opted for the latter, and I focused on a fighter's 3 most important stats: Strength, Constitution, and Dextertity. Next, one must decide their background and skill proficiencies. I chose the Urban Bounty Hunter background, because your background determines what the character did before the campaign, and I had made her to be a vampire hunter. The proficiencies are simply comprised of choosing what skills you get a bonus in, like deception, insight, or athletics, which are checks you need to make on a d20 occaisionally. One must choose their spells (moot for a melee class, so i skipped that this time) and equipment. There are several pre made packs for equipment, and I chose the dungeoneer's pack and  my weapons, 2 longswords. Then my fighter was all ready to go!
