America has a very colorful and extraordinary past.  Every year a new person does something amazing that changes the course of U.S. history.  It has never mattered if the person was a woman, man, white, black, or even Native American they, and many more, have helped to shape the America we live in today.

Step One: Read the complete assignment.  Make sure you understand what the final result of this WebQuest will look like.

Step Two: Now that you understand what you are doing, let’s get started!  Make sure that you have the “Amazing People” worksheet I passed out to the class; if you do not have one, please ask me for it.

Step Three: Go to The White House website

• Click on a President's picture to learn more about him.
• Choose a President who you think is Amazing.
• On your “Amazing People” worksheet fill out the section labeled “Amazing President” about the President you chose.

Step Four: Go to the Women’s History Month Website

• Click on an occupation of an Amazing Woman.
• Once you have entered a section click on a women’s name to learn more about her.
• Choose a woman who you think is Amazing.
• On your “Amazing People” worksheet fill out the section labeled “Amazing Woman” about the woman you chose.

Step Five: Go to the Black History Month Website

• Click on the occupation of an Amazing African American.
• Once you have entered a section, click on a Persons name to learn more about him/her.
• Choose an African American who you think is Amazing.
• On your “Amazing People” worksheet fill out the section labeled “Amazing African American” about the person you chose.

Step Six: Got to the People of the Old West Website

• Click on a persons name and read about his/her life.
• Choose a Person of the Old West who you feel is Amazing.
• On your “Amazing People” worksheet fill out the section labeled “Amazing Person of the Old West” about the person you chose.

Step Seven: Go to The Biography Channel website

• In the search option type the name of a person from any period of time who you think is an amazing person.
  • While the person may be from any time period, they must be part of U.S. history.
• On your “Amazing Person” worksheet fill out the section labeled “Amazing Person of my Choice” about the person you chose.

During this project you have learned about some amazing people in U.S. history. Hopefully you have learned about people you were not aware of before this assignment, or at least learned more about someone you already admired.  After the wall has been "built," take some time to find your person and then look at who your classmates chose to be "The Most Amazing Person in U.S. History."
