Automotive technicians are always thinking and problem-solving. Every repair involves some sort of critical thinking and diagnostic processing.
We use vehicles with intentionally bugged systems to give students real-world experience with this sort of problem-solving. We also use the diagnositic scenarios in our online CDX curriculum to provide 24/7 access to these type of activities. What the students find is that without the opportunity to build skills through online diagnostic exercises, they would not be able to efficiently carry out a diagnostic evaluation of a real problem on a real vehicle.
