High School

Manchester High School Midlothian, Va

From freshman year in 2010 until graduation day in 2014 this has been the place where I called home. I had some of the best experiences here and met some of the most amazing people during my years here. Manchester High school is located in Midlothian Virginia and was originally founded in 1924. The school colors are orange and blue and the mascot is the Manchester Lancers.

As a student at Manchester there are many opportunities to get involved within the school with various activities such as sports and clubs. While at Manchester I personally joined the track and field team. I ran track for two years (Sophomore and Junior year), and was mainly classified as a sprinter or middle distance runner. However, at the beginning or my first season I did start out as a distance runner simply because that was what I was used too coming off of my middle school track and field career.

Much like Longwood, if you aren't particularly athletic Manchester houses numerous different types of clubs and activities. If you can't find a club you like but still want to get involved, Manchester allows their students to create a club as long as it meets certain participation requirements. Also, if you're anything like me and maybe feel lazy a few years, there are events you can attend to get involved and support the school such as sports games, theatre plays, and musical concerts.

Although Manchester may sometimes get a bad reputation I would highly recommend this school due to its loving environment and the relationships and bonds you form with the people you meet while attending your four years at the school.
