(a) includes placement aligned to the scope and content of each license and endorsement sought;
(b) is split into no more than two placements, where each placement is a minimum of two weeks or the equivalent, with a continuous group of students and for continuous weeks in alignment with the school calendar and day;
(c) includes observations with actionable feedback to ensure growth and attainment of standards with a minimum of five observations, with at least one observation per placement, conducted by the cooperating teacher;
(d) includes observations with actionable feedback to ensure growth and attainment of standards with a minimum of five observations, with at least one observation per placement, conducted by the supervisor.
(e) includes a minimum of four triad meetings, with at least one triad meeting per placement with the cooperating teacher, the supervisor, and the candidate; and
(f) includes a written evaluation by the supervisor that addresses the candidate's ability to meet the applicable standards in parts 8710.2000 to 8710.8080 and the required professional dispositions.
For candidates seeking more than one professional license (e.g. ESL in addition to their other license, such as elementary education or a secondary education field), they must complete a minimum of 14 weeks, full-time student teaching as stated in Section VI of the UTP Student Handbook that are aligned to meet the subcomponents (a-f) of this standard. Candidates complete their 12-week, full-time student teaching with a continuous group of students for their base license to meet all the requirements for Standard 11 and at least two (2) additional weeks for their second licensure area (e.g. ESL). In total, they have a combined total of six (6) lesson observations with written, actionable feedback completed by their cooperating teacher(s) and university supervisor(s) while participating in at least three (3) triad meetings plus at least one (1) additional triad meeting for their 2nd license (e.g. ESL). Placements ensure experience is gained and performance evaluated by cooperating teacher(s) and university supervisor(s) in the scope and content of each license.
NOTE: All lesson observation forms, overall evaluation forms, and the disposition assessment form are the same as described and evidenced in Standard 11(2) to assess candidate proficiency with subject area and pedagogical licensure standards as well as unit-defined dispositions expected of urban teachers.
