In this lesson students did a shopping activity.  I chose students who are typically quiet in class to be the shopkeepers.  They would then be forced to speak in the target language for the entirety of the activity as well as interact with a large portion of their classmates over an extended period of time.  This, while likely uncomfortable for them, was done by me towards the purpose of honing their social skills.
