For Allendale's Earth Day Festival, our classroom will be hosting a table where the students facilitate workshops on making paper. This lesson teaches the students how to make the paper out of shredded paper (from my house), a blender, food coloring, and a wire frame.

The lesson went well, however, more assistance would have been helpful due to the safety measures I had to take. I was only able to teach 4 students at a time. This was due to possible foreseeable hazards associated with my use of the blender. Many students wanted to make their own paper and many did, however, I was not able to reach all of the students that day. This was acceptable because the following day, those who did receive training were given the duty of teaching other students on how to make the paper during the Earth Day Festival. The number of students from our class and around the school who showed up and learned how to make paper proved was a very successful event. Those students who taught the steps to make the paper were very happy with their duties. At the paper making table the set up was as follows: Two blenders (which where manned my me) provided the pulp, on each side of the table there was a student distributing the pulp to the participants, the participants then placed the pulp on the wire frame (6 available frames) this is where the paper was "created". Two more of my students were helping participants finalize their newly made paper and providing decorations like sprinkles.
