Administrative Goals

We will advance the overall student-athlete experience through intentional and strategic improvement of athletic facilities in both the short and long-term.

      2.1 Commitment to development of a master plan for Athletic facilities in conjunction with the College – wide master plan.

      Improve and expand physical infrastructure of athletic facilities as it relates to issues of space and quality of comparable Division I athletic programs. The commitment to facilities improvements will take place over the immediate, the short-term, and the long-term in distinct phases outlined in the Athletics Master Plan.

      Review and explore all options regarding potential improvements to all outdoor athletic venues to enhance the student-athlete experience, and the spectator experience at Manhattan College athletic events.

      Commitment to the improvement of athletic facilities to ensure the wellness, safety, and positive experience of the student-athlete and all students using athletic facilities on campus.

Recruitment and Retention of Personnel

      We will commit to recruitment and retention of highly qualified and diverse coaches, staff, and administrators throughout the department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

     

      Enhanced Internal and External Relations

      We will enhance relations between the Manhattan College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and both internal and external stakeholders to enhance the distinctive student-athlete experience.

We will advance the Student-Athlete experience through improved level of intercollegiate athletic competition and success integrated with the Lasallian, Catholic academic experience.

      Enhance collaboration between Intercollegiate Athletics, Academic Services and Student Life Services to ensure appropriate supports for all student-athletes, in particular underprepared or at-risk students entering Manhattan College. There will be an emphasis on transition to college life, academic and athletic stressors, and life skills to succeed at the college level academically, socially, psychologically, and spiritually.

      Improve Athletic performance of all Manhattan College teams with a goal of consistently residing in the top half of the conference athletically in all of our sports; in particular, we will seek the goal of MAAC post-season participation and success and NCAA post-season participation in a number of our sports.

Proposed actions to achieve goal: Replace equipment that has met its useful life/is not longer safe. Improve functionality of athletic facilities to provide a secure/functional equipment room, athletic training room and team lounge/film room.
Expected Results: A safe/secure environment for student- athletes, staff and fans. A facility that is more closely aligned with the quality of facilities at other conference schools.
