Artifact 49 - evidence of extra help offered before/after/during school

Evidence of Extra Help Offered Before, After or During School

Both teachers have office hours listed on their syllabus and are typically available for 30 minutes before school and at least 30 minutes after school. In addition to those times the teachers open the lab up for two Saturdays at the end of every quarter. These days are mainly for the students to make up animal care that they have not been able to complete during the regular school day. However, students also make up class work and tests on these extra days. Attached are some Saturday sign-in sheets and a screen shot from an electronic test that was finished after school hours. The teachers also help students from other science classes with their science projects. Documentation of working with a student on a science project after school is attached.

Artifact 50 - homework policy (program or school)

Homework Policy

Both teachers have their homework policy listed on their syllabi. They also both feel that having students complete missing work is more important than the work being on time. Therefore, they both give students credit for all work turned in late, but reduce the grade by 10%. The class syllabi are attached with homework information highlighted.
