Artifact 72 - 3 anecdotal student success stories

We have exceptional students.  It is wonderful to be able to work with them in the professional arena as technicians and assistants, and see them at continuing education events or when the instructor visits local hospitals.  Many graduates return to visit the class and speak to current students about their experiences.  One of my students completed her second year as a post-graduate, became an LVT, and was selected as a CTE success story for the Virginia Department of Education.  Another graduate who went on to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician was awarded an internship at the Pender Veterinary Centre in Northern Virginia in exotic animal medicine.

Two lists are attached.  One list contains those students who pursued post-secondary education and licensure as veterinary technicians, or went on to four year universities.  (Some students have done both).  This list also includes those students serving in various branches of the armed services, or as public servants.  The second list includes students who are working in local clinics, many of which are members of our advisory council.  The hospitals have web sites which include the names and/or brief biographies of the students.  The last artifact is a newspaper article covering a visit from a former student who became an LVT.
