Using the textbook and the internet, you and a partner will research 4 countries in Latin America to discover the level of development and standard of living in these countries.

You will plot information on a map of Latin America and complete a chart comparing the countries. On the map you will use symbols within the boundaries of the countries and place these symbols in a key/legend on the map.

1. Textbook page 215:
Determine the major land use in your assigned countries draw a symbol for that land use, plot it, and make a key.
Determine the major natural resource in your assigned countries draw a symbol for that resource, plot it, and make a key.
Find the manufacturing and trade centers and plot those with a red circle and list symbol in the key

2. Textbook page 214:
Find the areas with 2 million or more people and plot those with a blue circle and list symbol in the key

3. Internet/ CIA World Factbook: www.cia.gov in right hand column click on “factbook”
Read to discover the exports for you assigned countries draw symbols for these exports, plot them, and list symbols in the key.
Research the demographic information listed on the chart and fill in the chart for each of your assigned countries
