Our partnership allows CPS teachers to apply their LBS1 and Bilingual/ESL endorsement courses toward a Master of Arts degree in the following areas, reducing the already low costs of these graduate degrees by 9-14%.
The Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning (TLRN) prepares licensed teachers to become more effective and democratic classroom instructors and leaders. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be eligible to add an endorsement to their Illinois teaching license and they will have a deeper understanding of the expectations embedded in the Danielson Framework for Teaching and other teacher evaluation frameworks.
The Master of Arts in Second Language Special Education (SLSE) prepares licensed teachers to effectively instruct English Language Learners and students with special needs. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be eligible to add both the Bilingual/ESL and LBS1 endorsements to their Illinois teaching licenses.
The Master of Arts in Reading (READ) prepares licensed teachers to become effective and democratic leaders in language and literacy learning. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be eligible to add either the reading specialist, reading teacher, or bilingual/ESL endorsement to their Illinois teaching licenses.
