This website tells kids what matter is and where you can find matter. This website tells children the changing states of matter. This website has pictures that help show the chemical change of water into hydrogen peroxide. It has links that the children can use to go to learn about solids, liquids, gases, phases changes, solutions, and many more. This would be a great website for fifth and sixth graders.

This is a short and simple website for children to look at which tells them about matter. It is just one page but it has a lot of information on that page. This website catches children’s attention because it has a poem at the top of the page about matter. This poem is really neat and will help children remember things about matter because it is in the form of a poem.

This is a great website for teachers to gain knowledge about matter. On the home page of this website it has a link for structure of matter, states of matter, compounds and mixtures, and properties of matter. This is also a great website to test your knowledge as a teacher about matter.

Real Life Application Website on Matter

This website shows examples of real life application of matter, and is very appropriate for sharing it in a fourth grade classroom when discussing matter. This is also a great website that teachers can use to gain knowledge about matter from. This website uses familiar object for children to relate to and to describe some of the properties of an object.

 Rationale Website on Matter

Content: In my block II science class I was to find three different websites on matter. These three were to be for kids. I was to find another especially for teachers.  I was to find one that would show the real life application of matter. I have found websites about matter that are designed for kids, teachers, and websites that show real life application of matter. On the kids website that I have found it has pictures that show complex concepts. This website has links for the children to find out about matter. The website that I found for teachers has information about matter. It has links that show teachers about the structure of matter, states of matter, compounds and mixtures, and properties of matter. 

Impact: This will impact student learning by kids being able to go on the websites that I have found and learn about matter. The websites that I found for teachers will also impact the student’s learning. When the teachers use these websites they will gain knowledge about matter that they can then teach their students.

Alignment:

I have met Standard 3, indicator 2 by having the basic concepts of matter that are found in websites for teachers and students.
