Course Reflection

Good Job

I took this class because it was a course requirement for my major. I expected to gain new knowledge about technology from this course. The course did meet my expectations and goals. From the beginning of the semester to now, I learned new things about technology such as different types of technology (educational technology, integrating educational technology, and instructional technology), some concerns that come with using technology, and different methods to incorporate technology into a classroom. The most interesting thing I learned was about virtual reality. When I used the virtual reality goggles my father bought, I only used them to play around with (rollercoaster rides, haunted houses, etc.). In class, I learned that virtual reality can be used for much more purposes. I saw how virtual reality can be used as a replacement for field trips, can teach various school subjects, and can still learn while having fun. Although it was informative, learning about the hoax websites was the least interesting.

This course could be improved by being a complete online class. Since it is a class about technology, making this course online is a good way for students to learn technology and improve their skills. I do not have any feedback for the instructor, the course was designed for there to be no way a student should fail the class. One piece of advice I would give future students of this course is DO NOT wait until the last minute to do the assignments or simply choosing to not complete them especially when it gets time to complete the e-portfolio because all the assignments are a requirement.
