It is important as a teacher to understand and be aware of the different cultures and lifestyles of my students. I created this calendar in Microsoft Publisher, including religious and cultural holidays, celebrations and events. It is not my intention to necessarily celebrate these special days, but rather create awareness for myself about certain cultural or religious events like Ramadan, that may affect my students. Awareness of my student’s lifestyles can help me to be sensitive to their needs during these times.
