To learn more about discipline theories, our instructor assigned groups of three to research a specific theorist. The group I was a part of gathered research on Jacob Kounin and his model of Discipline through Classroom Management. We learned many ways to be a more effective teacher by using his methods of being proactive, having withitness skills, and by always being prepared. These three methods are only glimpses of his entire theory. To learn more about Kounin, view our PowerPoint and the summary handout. To find out where are sources came from feel free to view our references. Also, we not only wanted to tell our colleagues about his theory, but we wanted to demonstrate his theory. Therefore, we created an activity involving our colleagues so that complete understanding could take place.
